Mission Afrika and the Lutheran Brethren Church in Cameroun have since 1997 developed an international mission work. Together they now seek to develop a mission organization in Mali.
As a result of The Lutheran Brethren Church interest in mission work outside its own borders it has been developing the new mission organization called Fraternelle Luthérienne d’Afrique.
The new mission organization is now in development in Mali together with Mission Afrika. The purpose is to strengthen the work already going on, and to create a Christian organization acknowledged by the authorities in Mali.
Ground for further activities
The organization will with its base in Mali coordinate mission activities there. Beside mission work it will be the centre for activities with a holistic view that takes human social conditions into account through activities like education, health, agriculture and more. These activities are likely to get support from funds like DANIDA.
On a meeting in Cameroun in the beginning of 2010 representatives from the brethren Church and Mission Afrika met for a first sketch on the new organization. They hope to have the final paper ready by the end of 2010 and have the organization approved shortly after.
From Africa to Africa
In 1997 a partnership between Mission Afrika and The Lutheran Brethren Church in Cameroun was established.
Mission Afrika has supported a strengthening of the church administration, evangelist, human aid, education of pastors and a development project.
Since 2008 the partnership has focused on the international African project called “From Africa to Africa with Love.” The Lutheran brethren Church has chosen six missionary families to go to Mali. Mission Afrikas part has been in supporting the families that help two small churches in Mali in their mission work
